A Quick Albay Getaway

The Province of Albay

Mt. Mayon over Legazpi City

Albay – best known for Mayon Volcano renowned as the “perfect cone” because of its almost symmetric conical shape. But it is a province with rich historical heritage, even way before the Spaniards came in the Philippines.

Quite a number of revolutionary leaders from the Philippine Revolt during the Spanish, American and Japanese period came from Albay. One of those known leaders was Gen. Simeon Ola who continued to defy the American authority during his time.Legazpi Port at Night

Now, Albay is a province that relies on Agriculture and Tourism for its economy. Infrastructure like airport and seaport is already in place – in fact its seaport in Legaspi is very pretty and picturesque, international vessels also dock here.

Simple Life - Biking thru the Highway

For me, Albay is an ideal place to relax or even retire for retirees and setup farm or beach house. It’s a place where you can live simply and be in union with nature. But please remember that Albay is also frequented by Typhoons since its just right beside the Pacific.
